What is the key to impactful content? Listening…

How to ensure your messages to employees have an impact? It’s not what you think… ⤵️

We’ve all been there. You spend hours, if not days or weeks, on an important message for employees and post it.

Limited views.

No reaction.

Crickets.

Your internal clients are annoyed. You are frustrated. You ask yourself, “What has gone wrong?”

There is one simple way to find out, but leaders and communicators often don’t take the time.

Yes, messages must be well written, use engaging language, have an appealing hook, include a great visual, and be shared through the proper channels.

But I’m not talking about that today. There is something much more important.

👂LISTENING.

Listening to and understanding your audience is the most important thing you can do as a leader or a communicator.

And too often, leaders and communicators skip this important step because:

➡️ they don’t have time
➡️ it worked well last time
➡️ it’s too disruptive
➡️ they think they know (ouch!)

The simple truth is that if you want employees to engage with your messages, you need to understand them better!

That starts with listening.

If you would like support in setting up robust feedback loops and listening routines with your employees, I can help!
